Live Sketches
The brief
A collection of live sketches from 2018. A large portion come from the life-drawing classes I took during my exchange semester at La Cambre in Brussels, long sittings, fast poses, a room full of people drawing the same figure differently. The rest are outdoor and impromptu: people on trains, in cafes, wherever I happened to have a pen.
Nothing here is staged. It’s the most honest kind of drawing I do, quick, observational, and unembarrassed about being unfinished.
From the life-drawing studio at La Cambre, timed poses, from thirty-second gestures to the long sit.
Drawn on location, transit, cafes, travel. Whoever sat still long enough.
